Article:
Are You In Control Of Your Mind? by John Colanzi
It's really upsetting that so many individuals are filled with self doubt.
What's even more upsetting is that their doubts are caused by those close to them.
Are you letting them influence your decisions?
You have a new idea, or you're ready to make positive changes in your life and the doom and gloom crowd feels they have to protect you from yourself.
It's even worse when it's those closest to you.
* You Friends
* Your Relatives
* Your Parents
* Your Spouse
Their are opinions hard to ignore, because they sincerely think they're helping you.
You're bubbling with enthusiasm over a new venture, or your new program for self improvement.
You're so excited you have to share the news with your friends and family.
That's your first mistake.
The negatives start chipping away at your resolve.
"Don't be foolish, don't you realize how bad the economy is?"
"Are you serious? You know all those self - improvement programs are a scam."
For every positive thought you have, they've have a counter thought.
They love you too much to allow you to fill your head with such foolishness.
So how can you take control of your mind and avoid having them rain on your parade?
The first step is to keep your own council. Keep your plans to yourself.
They'll notice the positive changes soon enough.
Your second step is to get out your shovel and bury the doom and gloom.
Become a "good news" merchant starting now.
You're being pounded with the message that this is the worst economy in history.
BULL!!!
There have been better economies and there have been worse.
The economy doesn't control your success.
The president doesn't control your success.
Remember, you control your success or failure.
Start acting like those little monkeys.
* See no evil
* Hear no evil
* Speak no evil
Your third step is to spend less time with the doom and gloom crowd. Spend more time with those who are doing what you want to do and going where you want to go.
Start modeling yourself after the successful.
Start reading the autobiographies of the most successful individuals past and present.
You'll find that they all have common traits.
Fill your mind with good news and successful images.
Grab a notebook or some 3 x 5 cards and post some positive quotes to feed your head every day.
We are bombarded 24 ... 7 ... 365 with can't, impossible and so many other negatives. We absorb them without even realizing what's happening.
James Allen, in "As A Man Thinketh," compares the task of controlling your mind to that of a master gardener.
You have to grab the negative weeds by their roots and rip them out. Start planting positive thoughts in their place and watch your garden flourish.
Take control of your mind and you've taken the first step on your road to success.
Bullet - proof your mind.
The choice is yours.
Your future hangs in the balance.

LEARN TO LIVE
Charlie Hough says, "Listen to everyone. Learn from everyone. Nobody knows everything but everyone knows something."
At her citizenship hearing in 1967, Immaculata Cuomo (mother of Mario Cuomo) was asked by the judge how many stars were on the US flag. She said she didn't know, but could she ask the judge a question? After he agreed, she asked him how many hands of bananas were on a stalk. He admitted he didn't know, so she proudly said, "Well, I do." Her citizenship was granted. Here was a judge who wisely realized that everyone has something to teach.
"Live to learn and you will learn to live," says a Portuguese proverb. For life cannot be lived well in ignorance. In fact, those who live life to the fullest have a PhD in living! This is what a PhD in living means:
P is for "poor in knowledge." Those who live best realize that they can never learn enough.
H is for "hungry to learn." Those who hunger for knowledge will always find plenty to eat.
D is for "desire to succeed." Those who desire to learn and improve, and those who persist in spite of obstacles, will live fully.
Realize you're poor in knowledge, become hungry to learn and desire to succeed. Everybody and every occasion can become your teacher, and this is the PhD that will open the door of success.

Disappointments by Zig Ziglar
A fascinating article in the December 1995, issue of Sky Magazine tells what happened to American swimmer Tim McKee. The event took place in the 1972 Olympics in Munich when Olympic swimming timing had just "converted from stopwatches to the use of electronic touch pads." At that time stopwatches were "still sliced no finer than a hundredth of a second," but the just-installed electronic touch pads could measure the distance to the thousandths of a second. McKee had tied for first place with Gunnar Larsson of Sweden to the hundredth of a second, according to the stopwatch, but lost by two thousandths of a second, according to the electronic touch pad. To make the matter even worse, at the meet in Los Angeles in 1984, gold medals were awarded to both swimmers who had tied to the hundredth of a second.
I'm certain the disappointment was intense for Tim McKee, but in life we have many disappointments. Those who go on to greater things dwell on the disappointments briefly and then move on. I hope Tim realized that his entire life was still in front of him and whether he won or lost the gold medal he would always have his innate ability, drive, character, determination, love, commitment, responsibility, and all of the other things that help make him successful in life.
I hope you decide to make your disappointments a springboard on your journey to the top. Don't let the mistakes and disappointments of the past direct and control your future.

Problem Solving !
Fortunately, problems are an everyday part of our life. Consider this: If there were no problems, most of us would be unemployed. Realistically, the more problems we have and the larger they are, the greater our value to our employer.
Of course, some problems are small, like opening a ketchup bottle. Others are monumental like a seriously ill or injured child or mate, which present ongoing, daily complications. Successful living comes when we learn to handle those business and personal problems with as little fanfare as possible.
The successful business executive can handle challenges and solve problems at a remarkable clip. He/she makes quick and final decisions as a result of years of experience. The homemaker with small children at home handles many "catastrophes" each hour with the same dispatch.
Many people use counter-productive methods to deal with problems: They refuse to recognize them, deny responsibility for them, pretend they will go away if they ignore them, or are just flat insensitive to them.
The first step in solving a problem is to recognize that it does exist. Next, we determine whether the problem is our responsibility. If the answer is yes, we must determine how serious and/or urgent it is. When that last determination is made, we either take immediate action if the problem is simple and quickly solvable or develop a plan of action and prioritize it if the solution is more difficult and time-consuming.
Problem solving becomes a very important part of our makeup as we grow into maturity or move up the corporate ladder. I encourage you to take the time to define the problem correctly, learn the skill of quick analysis and remember, if it weren't for problems in your life, your position might not be necessary in the first place. Ironing out the wrinkles and solving the problems is what most jobs are about.
Think about it, and I'll See You At The Top!

Foolish people with all their other thoughts, have this one too: They are always getting ready to live, but never living.
Your success will start when you begin to pursue it. To reach your goal or to attain success, you don't need to know all of the answers in advance. You just need to have a clear idea of what your goal is.
Don't procrastinate when faced difficult problems. Break your problems into parts, and handle one part at a time.
Develop tendencies toward taking action. You can make something happen right now. Divide your big plan into small steps and take that first step right away.
Everyone who ever got where they are had to begin where they were. Your big opportunity is where you are right now.

Success is the consistent pursuit of a worthwhile dream”
~ Dexter Yeager ~
Five Steps to Remain Positive in a Negative World
Harvard and Stanford Universities have reported that 85%, the reason a person gets a job and gets ahead in that job is due to attitude; and only 15% is because of technical or specific skills.
Interesting, isn't it?
You spent how much money on your education? And you spent how much money on building your positive attitude?
Here's an interesting thought. With the 'right' attitude, you can and will develop the necessary skills. So where's your emphasis? Skillbuilding? Attitude building? unfortunately, 'Neither' is the real answer for many people. Perhaps if more people knew how simple it is to develop and
maintain a positive attitude they would invest more time doing so. So here we go.
Five steps to staying positive in a negative world:
1. Understand that failure is an event, it is not a person. Yesterday ended last night; today is a brand new day, and it's yours. You were born to win, but to be a winner you must plan to win, prepare to win, and then you can expect to win.
2. Become a lifetime student. Learn just one new word everyday and in five years you will be able to talk with just about anybody about anything. When your vocabulary improves, your I.Q. goes up 100% of the time, according to Georgetown Medical School.
3. Read something informational or inspirational every day. Reading for 20 minutes at just 240 words per minute will enable youto read 20, 200-page books each year. That's 18 more than the average person reads! What an enormous competitive advantage . . . if you'll just read for 20 minutes a day.
4. The University of Southern California reveals that you can acquire the equivalent of two years of a college education in three years just by listening to motivational and educational cassettes on the way to your job and again on the way home. What could be easier?
5. Start the day and end the day with positive input into your mind. Inspirational messages cause the brain to flood with feel-good-about-yourself neurotransmitter. Begin and end the day by reading or doing something positive!
Remember: Success is a process, not an event. Invest the time in your attitude and it will pay off in your skills , your career and your life. Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it..
most important is taking action towards better life..just reading for fun with out taking action will not help..
Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.
Albert Einstein
"We cannot solve our problems
with the same level of thinking
that created them."
Become a Good Observer by Jim Rohn
We must never allow a day to pass without finding the answers to a list of important questions such as: What is going on in our industry? What new challenges are currently facing our government? Our community? Our neighborhood? What are the new breakthroughs, the new opportunities, the new tools and techniques that have recently come to light? Who are the new personalities that are influencing world and local opinion?
We must become good observers and astute evaluators of all that is going on around us. All events affect us, and what affects us leaves an imprint on what we will one day be and how we will one day live.
One of the major reasons why people are not doing well is because they keep trying to get through the day. A more worthy challenge is to try to get from the day. We must become sensitive enough to observe and ponder what is happening around us. Be alert. Be awake. Let life and all of its subtle messages touch us. Often, the most extraordinary opportunities are hidden among the seemingly insignificant events of life. If we do not pay attention to these events, we can easily miss the opportunities.
So be a good observer of both life and the world around you.

Six Behaviors That Increase Self-Esteem by Denis Waitley (excerpted from The Psychology of Motivation)
Following are six behaviors that increase self-esteem, enhance your self-confidence, and spur your motivation. You may recognize some of them as things you naturally do in your interactions with other people. But if you don't, I suggest you motivate yourself to take some of these important steps immediately.
First, greet others with a smile and look them directly in the eye. A smile and direct eye contact convey confidence born of self-respect. In the same way, answer the phone pleasantly whether at work or at home, and when placing a call, give your name before asking to speak to the party you want to reach. Leading with your name underscores that a person with self-respect is making the call.
Second, always show real appreciation for a gift or complement. Don't downplay or sidestep expressions of affection or honor from others. The ability to accept or receive is a universal mark of an individual with solid self-esteem.
Third, don't brag. It's almost a paradox that genuine modesty is actually part of the capacity to gracefully receive compliments. People who brag about their own exploits or demand special attention are simply trying to build themselves up in the eyes of others - and that's because they don't perceive themselves as already worthy of respect.
Fourth, don't make your problems the centerpiece of your conversation. Talk positively about your life and the progress you're trying to make. Be aware of any negative thinking, and take notice of how often you complain. When you hear yourself criticize someone - and this includes self-criticism - find a way to be helpful instead of critical.
Fifth, respond to difficult times or depressing moments by increasing your level of productive activity. When your self-esteem is being challenged, don't sit around and fall victim to "paralysis by analysis." The late Malcolm Forbes said, "Vehicles in motion use their generators to charge their own batteries. Unless you happen to be a golf cart, you can't recharge your battery when you're parked in the garage!"
Sixth, choose to see mistakes and rejections as opportunities to learn. View a failure as the conclusion of one performance, not the end of your entire career. Own up to your shortcomings, but refuse to see yourself as a failure. A failure may be something you have done - and it may even be something you'll have to do again on the way to success - but a failure is definitely not something you are.
Even if you're at a point where you're feeling very negatively about yourself, be aware that you're now ideally positioned to make rapid and dramatic improvement. A negative self-evaluation, if it's honest and insightful, takes much more courage and character than the self-delusions that underlie arrogance and conceit. I've seen the truth of this proven many times in my work with athletes. After an extremely poor performance, a team or an individual athlete often does much better the next time out, especially when the poor performance was so bad that there was simply no way to shirk responsibility for it. Disappointment, defeat, and even apparent failure are in no way permanent conditions unless we choose to make them so. On the contrary, these undeniably painful experiences can be the solid foundation on which to build future success. |

“Whatever you can do, or dream you can…begin it! Boldness has genus, power and magic in it”
( N.W.H. Murray)
When things go wrong as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all uphill. When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh. When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns, As everyone of us sometimes learns. And many a fellow turns about, When he might have won had he stuck it out. Don't give up though the pace seems slow, You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than It seems to a faint and faltering man. Often the struggler has given up, When he might have captured the victor’s cup. And he learned too late when the night came down, How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out, The silver tint of the clouds of doubt. And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems afar. So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit, It's when things seem worst that you Mustn’t quit.
The loser is not at the time we are fail, but when we let our failure to take over our life, and let us keep on disappointed and do not want to learn from our past experiences anymore”
( John C Maxwell )
Inspiring articles from Glenn' Forum.
This is a classic article that will bring response like "I know that la", but the fact is not all people are writing their GOALS.
Hope you can learn something ---- It doesn't matter what you are doing in life, whether it be working on improving your wellness, looking for a career opportunity, or trying to find time to spend with your family, everything becomes more achievable when you have a plan. And, no matter how big or little your goals may be, it helps to be clear on what you want to accomplish, and when you want to accomplish it. Napoleon Hill, one of the greatest motivators of all time said that "a goal is a dream with a deadline". So, if you have something in your life that you have always "dreamed" of doing, set a time frame for achieving it, and you're on your way to making it reality!
There is something magic about putting your goals on paper, and coming up with a plan to accomplish them. A Harvard Business School revealed that 3% of people are successful, 30% are moderately successful and 67% just exist. The significant difference for the 3% who are successful is that they have written down, specific goals. The 30% who are moderately successful have a general idea of where they are going but don't have any goals formalized. The rest are happy to watch the world go by.
With this overwhelming evidence of the importance of writing down your goals, you might ask yourself why don't more people do it? Like everything else in life, there are many reasons people don't do what makes sense to do, even though the rewards can be great. Take a look at this list and honestly evaluate which of the following reasons have, in the past, contributed to your lack of consistent goal- setting and goal-getting:
-- Not making the time. -- Don't know how. -- Do not believe in own ability to design and create own life. -- Wanting to please others and always do what you think others want you to do rather than choosing to do what you want to do. -- Too many interests and activities creating an illusion of "busy- ness" but with no real focus and direction. -- Fear of failure. -- Fear of success.
Okay, now that you know why you haven't done proper goal setting and planning, let's talk about why writing your goals down works:
1. Goals help us focus. Life happening around you can cause you to lose the ability to prioritize and keep in mind the things that really matter. Things that really don't advance the ball for you can look urgent or important when you are being confronted with them, and this contributes to "brain clutter", which in turn distracts you from the things that really matter. When your goals are clearly delineated, your mind is able to focus and work on them all the time, both consciously and subconciously.
2. Goals drive us forward. It's alot easier to enthusiastically move forward on a journey when you have a road map, than when you are just wandering along anywhere the wind may next take you. Having a goal that is clear has the same effect. By writing your goal down, in a clear and concise fashion, you actually begin to visualize yourself achieving the goal. It becomes more than a dream, because you can now see yourself doing, and once you can see yourself achieving your goal, you begin to create a belief system that drives you to it.
3. Planning and Reaching a Goal Increases Self-Confidence. When you have taken the time to set out your goals, and to implement your plan for accomplishing it you will find yourself achieving smaller goals along the way, and these smaller milestones help to increase your confidence, and provide proof that your goals are achieveable. It becomes a cascade effect that will drive you further and further towards implementation of your complete plan. And every step you take will increase the drive as you continue to accomplish the little milestones along the way.
Conclusion
Whatever you do in life, don't underestimate the power of having a clear and concise plan reduced to writing. We have all heard it said that "people don't plan to fail, they simply fail to plan". Don't allow yourself to be a victim of failing to plan. Take the time now to turn a dream into reality.
Warmest regards,
Glenn K. Garnes "Daddy is the most important title I hold"

The author of the following information said to feel free to pass it on. This may help you to understand how to improve your Adwords campaigns. Gloria ------------------------------------------------------------- On Jan 12, Google released an Affiliate Policy Change to their AdWords product. This newsletter is dedicated to general strategies that will improve your affiliate campaigns in light of these changes.
Specific Google Changes
The changes to the Adword Policy are simple and can be described as follows:
1. Google will only display one ad in total for affiliates and parent companies sharing the same URL. 2. Affiliates will no longer need to designate themselves as affiliates in their AdWords ads
Purpose of the Adword Policy Changes:
1. To prevent the display of redundant ads for a given keyword phrase 2. To improve the relevancy of Adword ads 3. To protect the value of Adwords ads in the future
Google's Perspective
Shortly after the announcement, Salar Kamanger, director of product management at Google, was quoted as saying, "The new policy, which will be implemented over the coming weeks, is intended to create a cleaner interface for users, increase the diversity of merchants represented in the links, and reduce duplicate ads, all while recognizing the important benefits affiliate marketers bring to the table"
Kamanger continues, "What's important to keep in mind is that Google looks at two factors to decide which ad to show, CTR and Max CPC. By improving the quality of your ad and/or raising your Max CPC, you can increase the chances of your ad showing for any particular query."
Kamanger also stated that Google won't give preference to merchants over their affiliates, but will show the link that has the highest ad rank, a rating calculated by Google using the cost per click bid and the click-through rate of the ad.
Most importantly Kamanger said, "Google will continue to let advertisers use a destination URL that doesn't match the actual landing page's URL." Thus, there will not be a problem with a traditional destination url like www.amazon.com and the affiliate link that targets the specific product.
Finally, advertisers can still link to sub-pages within a site, where appropriate. Kamangar uses the following example, "There could be an ad that points to an eBay search for an item as well as an eBay store that sells that item."
Impacts to Affiliate Marketers
I don't think this will have a major impact on affiliate marketers working without a website. Keyword selection will become increasingly important, and some markets may be impossible to crack. Although these changes will remove certain campaigns, it is likely that it will not account for a significant percentage.
The GoogleCash method is a vital guide to targeting and succeeding in the niche markets. These niche markets are often the most profitable. Greater research and testing may be required to maintain your position, but your cost per click should drop improving your return on investment.
Currently, most of the competitors for a keyword phrase are promoting different merchants. Even in cases when four or five affiliates promote the same affiliate program for a given keyword phrase, there are typically two times that many competitors that promote different merchants. Thus, the good competitors will still be there, but there will be less poorly targeted campaigns in overly competitive markets.
In the long run, preventing duplicate affiliate ads for the same merchant for a given search term will improve the quality of the Google Adword experience. This will keep customers coming back for relevance without repetition, and this will increase the potential for future sales!
In my experience with some of my campaigns that have been running for many months, I have seen other ads for the same product and affiliate program come and go. They are displayed for a few days, and since their CTR is under .5%, soon their ads get disabled, and then they are gone.
A few days later another person's ads will come and go. This is because there are a lot of people that are quite lazy and don't use all of the techniques of keyword matching, negative keywords, and split testing. They just do a copycat campaign for a keyword with a similar ad and an identical merchant, but that's all.
So for my campaigns I don't think I will see a big difference. In fact over time, there might be less competitors. Recommendations:
1.Watch your campaigns closely a.Watch for drops in impressions b.Watch for drops in sales c.Watch for sudden increase in impressions without a corresponding increase in sales
2.Improve keyword selection a.Remove non-performing keywords b.Split test various ad copy c.Use negative keywords to improve CTR d.Use misspelled keyword phrases e.Use synonyms
3.Remove the "aff" tag from the ad copy a.Expect an increase in CTR!!
4.Search for profitable, unoccupied keyword/url combinations
5.Raise your budget if you have claimed a top position and it is still profitable
6.Explore your niches deeply and consider building mini-content sites
Seconday Recommendations:
1. Look for opportunities on other PPC engines 2. Build content pages to promote multiple products 3. Contact your affiliate managers and/or merchants to negotiate your payouts
Concluding Remarks
Numerous strategies exist that will circumvent the new policy, but beware as these loop holes will only exist temporarily. Concentrate, on the long term viability of your adword campaigns. Strive to be the affiliate that commands the top rank for a merchant url for a certain keyword phrase thus benefiting from the competitors that will no longer be receiving impressions.
If you happen to be one of these competitors that lost your place, then look for new keyword phrases within your niche that are currently unclaimed or increase your bid to regain the position.
Internet marketing is an evolving industry and changes like this are likely to continue. If you focus on the spirit of the changes and try to create ads that are extremely relevant for the keyword you chose, then you shouldn't have problems finding profitable niches in the future.
Over the coming weeks, I will review the viability of emerging strategies and products created to improve campaign results. Some strategies will work better than others, and I will try and discover the pros and cons of each and report them objectively. Until then, improve your campaigns little by little so as to maximize your current returns.
Thanks and Happy Googling! Ron McGee |
